Board Nominations

 

The Social and Affective Neuroscience Society (SANS) invites all members in good standing to consider standing for election to the Board as a general board member. During this year’s Board election, there will be three (3) vacancies to fill. Board terms are three years in duration, effective at the end of the Annual Conference each year.

Board members are expected to participate in quarterly board meetings via conference call and any other called meeting, as needed.  The role includes assisting with specific duties and portfolios as assigned by the Board Executive.

Members in good standing can self-nominate or be nominated by others.

All nominations must include a CV and a short summary of who you are and why you wish to join the SANS Board sent to casey@podiumconferences.com.  The short summary will be shared with SANS members as a part of the vote for new board members.

We seek board members with the following attributes:

  • Engagement with research in social and affective neuroscience
  • Appreciates the vision and mission of SANS as a society
  • Leadership experience, including experience in university, scholarly, non-profit, and/or industry groups
  • Diversity, broadly defined, including career stage, institution type, nationality, gender, race, ethnicity, disability

If nominating others, the application must also include confirmation from the nominee that they accept the nomination.

Voting will be done electronically and will be open to all members in good standing at the time of voting.

Nominations due by March 24th.
Voting will be March 26th to April 11th.
New board members announced April 14th.
